Marvel Crisis Protocol: Sanctum Sanctorum Terrain Expansion

Every table wants one big building, and this is the one with a story attached. The Sanctum Sanctorum is a full multi-level structure rather than a piece of scatter, which means it does three jobs at once: it blocks line of sight across the middle of the board, it creates elevation for characters who can reach it, and it gives both players an obvious thing to fight over.

That last point is the real argument. Games played on flat tables tend to decide themselves early. Drop a building this size in the centre and suddenly the approach routes matter, cover matters, and a melee character has somewhere to hide on the way in. The set also includes the Bleecker Street dressing, a street sign, a stop sign, a mailbox and a newspaper stand, to fill the space around it.

Who needs it: any Marvel: Crisis Protocol player short of a centrepiece, and specifically anyone running mystics.
